Humana acquires Salbohed Group Home
Salbohed Group Home is an LSS assisted living facility in Västmanland for boys and girls of secondary school age who are defined as category 1 in the Act concerning Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments.
The target group has mild to moderate learning disabilities, often in combination with other forms of behaviour that make it difficult to function in many situations. Autism spectrum diagnoses are also common. Students without learning disabilities are also accepted in cases in which their problems are so complex that they are unable to find other accommodation.
The home has been in existence for nearly 100 years, and has been run privately since the new millennium when the county council transferred ownership and operation to the staff. Salbohed also ran a secondary school until 30 June 2015, but this activity was transferred to Sala municipality on 1 July 2015.
Salbohed Group Home will be part of Humana's Individual & Family business area and is a welcome addition to Humana, strengthening its LSS operation for children and young people. The take-over is effective from 15 July 2015 and does not involve any changes to operations, management or staff.
