Humana investing in retirement home in Gävle to be run under own management

After the summer, groundbreaking is scheduled to take place for what will be Humana’s first retirement under own management. The new housing facility will be built in central Gävle in close proximity to both services and public transport.

The retirement home will be built adjacent to both an assisted living and elderly care home. In addition to operating the housing facility, Humana will also operate home care services in the area. The first residents are expected to be able to move in during the spring of 2016.

“We are looking forward to offering a top-quality living solution filled with life and activities,” comments Eva-Lotta Sandberg, head of Humana’s elderly care operations. “What makes this even more exciting is the close cooperation that has been established with SPF (the Swedish Pensioners Association), where we will work together to fill the area with a range of services and offerings for an active life. Building up a retirement home from the start and putting our own hallmark on it will give us an opportunity to create a home living experience beyond the usual.”

In addition to common areas for socialising and activities, the facility will include a handicap-accessible spa area with a sauna and relax rooms for the residents.
