Humana wins two bids in Kungsbacka

Humana Omsorg AB has been awarded a contract to operate two retirement homes in Kungsbacka Municipality. One is located in Vallda Heberg and is a newly built facility with 65 apartments. The other is the Ekhaga retirement home in Onsala, with 94 spots. Humana has to date been operating elderly care operations in neighbouring municipalities, including Varberg.

On 13 June the Elderly Care Board announced its decision that Humana has been chosen as the contractor for the new Vallda Heberg retirement home, which is set for occupation on 1 October this year. Humana will take over the operation of the Ekhaga retirement home on 1 December 2013.

“These are two separate invitations to tender in which we have been entrusted with operating elderly care facilities,” comments Johan Åsbrink, President of Humana’s elderly care operations. “We are very happy and proud that we received top scores for quality for our Ekhaga bid. Quality means a lot in this context, but it was particularly gratifying for us, since we always have high aspirations when it comes to quality. Every individual should be able to influence his or her own situation and everyday life.”

The takeover of Ekhaga will take place in close coordination with the municipality and the union representatives. Humana will initiate its work by immediately informing the residents, their families and personnel, as soon as the contract award has taken force, which normally takes ten days.

New hiring for the approximately 70 positions at the entirely new Vallda Heberg facility will begin soon.
