Humana expands in Finland
Humana AB, a leading Nordic care company, acquires Nordic Senior Services Oy (NSS Oy) with operations in southern and central Finland. NSS Oy operates in the fields of elderly care, functional impairment (LSS) and psychosocial care and treatment. The acquisition means expansion into new care segments while strengthening Humana’s existing offer geographically.
Humana AB has entered into an agreement to acquire all shares in Nordic Senior Services Oy (NSS Oy). The transfer will take place immediately and the operations of NSS Oy will be included in Arjessa, Humana’s Finnish subsidiary.
Nordic Senior Services Oy currently operates seven elderly care units, one LSS unit and one social psychiatry unit. Business is conducted primarily in the central parts of Finland in Tampere and Vanta (Nyland) with about 135 employees and 155 customers. NSS Oy’s revenue for 2016 amounted to EUR 7.1 M and operating profit before goodwill amortisation was EUR 0.3 M. The acquisition means expansion of existing operations in Finland into new care segments while increasing Humana’s existing offer geographically. The acquisition will help Humana expand into two new important areas of care in the Finnish market, elderly care and LSS, while strengthening the company’s position as the leading Nordic provider of individual and family care services.
