HVB Lappetorp new member of Humana family

2013-09-05 12:00

Humana, the market leader in personal assistance and with operations in LSS assisted living, elderly care, preschool/school/short-term living for children with multifunctional disabilities, and individual and family care, has acquired HVB Lappetorp.

HVB Lappetorp operates special care homes (“HVB”) for boys aged 12-19. Operations are conducted at four HVB homes located in the Nyköping area, with offices in Tystberga, with their current focus since 1997. HVB Lappetorp will be part of Humana’s Individual & Family business area, which also includes the operations Baggium Vård & Behandling, Tiangruppen, K REHAB, Adventum, Davidsbo and Humlans HVB. The acquisition marks an important step by Humana in the development of its Individual & Family business area, especially since approval has been granted to HVB Lappetorp by the Swedish Schools Inspectorate to offer education for grades 6-9 for students in need of special support.

The takeover takes immediate effect. Göran Esberg will be stepping down as President at his own request and will be succeeded by Anders Lindell. In other respects, the ownership change will not entail any changes in the company’s operations, management or personnel.

“The acquisition of HVB Lappetorp will enable us to offer more children quality and professional care that also includes a school under own management. We look forward to further developing the operation together with Anders Lindell and his team,” comments Claus Forum, Head of the Humana’s Individual & Family business area. “All of us in Humana’s Individual & Family business area share the same view of how a quality operation should be run, with focus on the needs of the individual youths. We extend a warm welcome to HVB Lappetorp as part of the Humana family.”
