Humana growing in Uppsala

Humana has to date been operating eight LSS assisted living homes in Uppsala. Following a procurement process conducted by the municipality, Humana has been awarded a contract to operate another twelve group housing facilities, of which two are service homes.

“It is very exciting to have this opportunity to operate another 12 retirement homes in Uppsala,” comments Johan Åsbrink, President of Humana’s care operations. “We get along well in our cooperation with the municipality, and these new facilities will enable us to grow and further develop our LSS assisted living operations.”

Humana Omsorg was judged from a total economic perspective to have submitted the best bid in Uppsala Municipality’s procurement process. Takeover of the operations will take place in close coordination with Uppsala Municipality, which currently operates the various housing facilities.

“We will initiate our work at the respective homes by informing the residents, their families and personnel,” says Johan Åsbrink. “Our focus will then be on offering our customers the best quality of care and give them greater opportunities to influence their everyday lives.”

Humana will take over the various housing facilities effective 1 November 2013, conditional upon the decision taking force, which normally takes ten days, and that the award is not appealed.
