2012-02-27 12:00

Humana AB, the market leader in personal assistance and with operations in LSS assisted living, elderly care, individual and family care, and preschool/school/short-term living for children with multifunctional disabilities, has acquired Tiangruppen AB.

Tiangruppen, based in Uppsala, works with care and treatment for children and youths. The operations comprise three special care homes (“HVB”), a family care home operation and outpatient care. The company was established in 1989. Christer Lundqvist, the company’s president, has worked with Tiangruppen for more than 15 years and will continue to run the operations together with other employees as part of Humana’s Individual & Family business area.

Through the acquisition of Tiangruppen, Humana is taking an important step in the development of a market-leading child and youth care operation. The Humana Group has to date included Baggium Vård och Behandling, with some ten treatment homes primarily in western and southern Sweden. Through Tiangruppen, Humana gains a market presence also in the Mälardal region.

“We welcome Tiangruppen as a new member of the Humana family,” comments Per Granath, President and CEO of Humana. “We have gotten to know Tiangruppen as a well managed and high-quality company with competent and engaged employees who do great work for the youths they serve. We are happy that Tiangruppen, which has been searching for a suitable corporate environment in which to further develop, has chosen to join together with Humana. Commitment, strong basic values and employees with a sound and humanistic attitude to their work are a few factors that our companies share in common. By sharing our experience and through mutual competence development, the conditions are very favourable for us to further refine our operations in pace with the rising demands made by principals and authorities. We look forward to a stimulating cooperation with Tiangruppen’s president, Christer Lundqvist, and his team.”
