Five companies merge to form Sweden’s largest assistance company

2011-10-17 12:00

The companies Assistansia, Din Assistans, My Life, Blåvingen and Amanda are now joining together under the name Humana. The companies were previously part of Humana, but with this change they will now form a single entity. With 1,800 customers, they will make up Sweden’s largest company in the area of personal assistance. The change will entail, among other things, further investments to raise the employees’ competence and the quality of assistance.

“By merging several assistance providers to one entity, we will now be able to offer greater security and higher quality to the 1,800 people who use our services,” comments Helena Pharmanson, Director of Communications at Humana. “By forming the largest company in personal assistance, we will be able to invest more in competence development and help more people exercise their right to a good life.”

The formation of a joint company – Humana – creates greater opportunities to develop and offer quality services for people in need of personal assistance. Among other things, more competence-development initiatives for employees will be carried out within the framework of Humana Akademin. Demand for training for personal assistants is great, and to date this year some 850 assistants have attended some form of course. Recently a new training was started for child assistance.

Through this combination Humana has 1,800 customers – half of whom are children and youths. This makes Humana not only the largest assistance company, but also the one with the most customers who are children and youths. The change also entails that Humana now has 20 lawyers who can help customers obtain the support they are entitled to. Altogether the merger creates greater opportunities to provide individuals the support they need.

“By gathering these different companies under one roof, we can invest more in raising the competence of our 7,000 employees and help more people in their right to a good life. Competent and engaged employees are our most important asset for providing quality assistance,” adds Helena Pharmanson.

Humana’s other operations consist of LSS assisted living, elderly care, individual and family care, and a school for students with functional disabilities.
